As I said in an earlier post, I have imposed a deadline for finishing the first draft of my novel. May the 1st, to be precise.
So far, I'm actually sticking to it. In fact, at my current rate of work, I may even have a week or two to spare. This does depend on a couple of sticking points in my plan though. I have two rather vaguely planned sections that'll require some thought when I get to them, and my ending isn't planned. Well, it is and it isn't. I know what the end result will be, but I don't know exactly how it's going to happen. These are reasonably minor problems though, so I'm not particularly worried.
Besides, I'll probably change half the plot in the second draft anyway.
